John Lakin², (William¹⁾  b. probably in England; died in Groton, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.  He married Mary Bacon (learn more about Mary Bacons Ancestry click on Mary Bacon) she was born 1 March 1661.   (John Lakin was one of the first settlers at Groton, MA, he was one of the original petitioners to set off the land which eventually became known as Groton.  He came with his older brother William.  Also with John and William were;  Richard, John, and Robert Blood.  John and his brother William owned 20 acre right as original proprietors.  John's property was at Nod, a district lying northerly of the soapstones quarry.  John was later an ensign there in the militia.)
